Digital signature
We sign translations both physically and digitally.
With a conventional analogue signature, the translation is printed out on paper. A translator who is court-certified in Germany then signs it by hand and adds their official seal. You can order multiple copies of the translation for a nominal fee.
We would also be happy to issue you with a digitally signed translation of your document in addition to the paper copy. The digital signature is based on a qualified electronic signature certificate which proves the integrity of the document and the authenticity of the signatory. Once the document has been signed, it is possible to tell whether the document has been changed (its integrity) and check the identity of the signatory and the validity of the signature (its authenticity).
We work with D-Trust, a member of the Bundesdruckerei Group. As a member of the Bundesdruckerei Group, D-Trust provides legally compliant and certified trust services including digital certificates and electronic signatures. These services meet the highest security standards for modern infrastructure and facilitate secure digital identities for companies, public authorities and private individuals.
The sign-me remote signature solution is used in place of signing in pen on paper: the signature is created digitally. The qualified electronic signature used meets the written form requirement and has the same legal standing as a hand-written signature. Anyone can use software such as Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to check the validity of the digital signature.
We strongly recommend that you tell us who the end recipient of your translation is, and give us their email address, at the time you order your translation. This means we can send the document directly – and therefore promptly – so it can be processed more quickly. This saves you printing and postage costs.
