We price our services on the basis of target text length and the German Federal law on payments (JVEG). The main exceptions to this are urgent orders, work done at weekends and original texts which are handwritten. For originals either sent as a PDF or JPEG or scanned by us, the line price will normally be €1.95 ex. VAT (€2.32 inc. VAT). A standard line in the target text is measured as 55 characters including spaces. Where texts contain challenging terminology or require a great deal of research, we charge a line price of €2.10 ex. VAT (€2.50 inc. VAT).
The cost of certification is €10.00 ex. VAT (€11.90 inc. VAT) per document. We consider a degree or diploma certificate and the accompanying supplement to be two separate documents.
The flat fee payable on each order to cover expenses is €15.00 plus VAT (€17.85 inc. VAT).
Not all translations will need an Apostille. However, if your certified translation is for use outside Germany, the authorities abroad will often ask for an Apostille. We will be happy to obtain one for you. This normally costs €38.00 plus VAT (€45.22 inc. VAT).
Please note that we can only calculate the final, binding cost of your order on the basis of the target text once our translation is complete. The length of documents (in lines or pages) can vary substantially, as each relates to a different individual and circumstances.
A degree or diploma certificate might have a supplement of between two and ten pages in length, and the number of standard lines/pages can also vary greatly. There is also sometimes text contained in stamps, seals, handwritten notes and various types of certification and legalisation: all this affects the length of text for translation. Our translation process involves creating a counterpart to your original certificate in a different language, containing all of the same information.
